Meet Melinda!
My Path to Becoming a Therapist
My journey to becoming a therapist wasn’t a straight line. I started out in corporate America after college, but even then, people would naturally open up to me. I’d find myself listening to coworkers share their deepest struggles, and though I didn’t realize it then, that was the beginning of my calling. Over time, I grew restless in corporate and knew there was something more for me. With the encouragement of a mentor, I took a leap, researched counseling programs, and enrolled in grad school.
Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working in several counseling settings—each one teaching me something new and shaping my approach to helping others. Those experiences, combined with my own story, allow me to walk with people as they move through their own healing and growth—helping them see the light at the end of the tunnel.
